Bio

Matt represents general contractors, construction managers, EPCs, sureties, owners, developers, and subcontractors in all phases of construction and on a wide variety of construction-related issues, including breach of contract, breach of warranty, mechanic’s liens, contractual and statutory indemnity, payment and performance bonds, collections, fraud, extra work, construction defects, contract termination, differing site conditions, bid protests, bid mistakes, delay and disruption claims, in both the public and private sectors. He also regularly drafts, reviews and negotiates construction contracts and serves as project counsel from the bid phase through project closeout.

Matt is recognized as a leading construction lawyer in Texas by Chambers USA, 2026 Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers, a Top 100 lawyer by Texas Super Lawyers, and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He is also recognized by Best Lawyers and The Legal 500. Matt is among the first attorneys in Texas to become Board Certified in the area of Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
